Eating disorders program coming to Modesto in February:
Stanislaus PRIDE Center (SPC) and other organizations sponsor a program by Meghan’s Place: ‘Gay Men, Body Image and Eating Disorders’
(Modesto, California) : The Stanislaus PRIDE Center joins other organizations in sponsoring Gay Men, Body Image & Eating Disorders, a program presented by Meghan’s Place Eating Disorder Therapy Center of Modesto (www.meghansplace.com). The educational event begins at 7:00 PM on Monday, February 26th at Room 132 of Sierra Hall on the West Campus of Modesto Junior College.
Panelists include San Francisco film director and nationally recognized expert from Stanford University
A community education event, the Stanislaus PRIDE Center joins other local Stanislaus County organizations in sponsoring Gay Men, Body Image & Eating Disorders, a program presented by Meghan’s Place Eating Disorder Therapy Center of Modesto (www.meghansplace.com). The educational event will be held at Room 132 of Sierra Hall on the West Campus of Modesto Junior College, 2201 Blue Gum Ave (in Modesto). The program will run from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM on Monday, February 26th. The program begins with a screening of Travis Matthews’ film Do I Look Fat? The film runs one hour in length, and is followed by an interactive panelist- led discussion.
There is a $15.00 per person cost to attend the program.
The panel of speakers for the discussion includes the following: the director of Do I Look Fat?, Travis Matthews of San Francisco; Stanford University psychiatry and behavioral sciences professor, Dr. James Lock (nationally recognized as an expert about gay men with eating disorders); Ms. Signe Darpinian, MFT, Meghan’s Place Eating Disorder Center in Modesto; Keith Highiet, President of the Stanislaus PRIDE Center; other local citizens.
